The Army celebrated the signing of the 100th Intergovernmental Support Agreement (IGSA) between Fort Meade and Howard County on May 23rd, 2022. This stormwater Engineering and Construction Agreement will help achieve cost savings and increase stormwater service capability by leveraging the local expertise of Howard County. From these 100 Army Wide IGSAs the DoD has achieved over $28 Million in savings annually, and over $48 Million in cost avoidance.
“This IGSA will generate a revenue stream for Howard County, and could save Fort Meade a significant amount of money per year in planning and engineering design cost for stormwater abatement projects,” said Col. Christopher Nyland, Fort Meade Garrison Commander.
