A number of SIA Solutions experts were speakers or moderators at the 2018 Installation Innovation Forum hosted by the Association for Defense Communities, contributing to discussions on the theme of this year’s forum, “Maximizing the Value of Our Installations,” where over 600 community, military and industry leaders gathered in San Diego, February 12-14, to explore key issues defining military value.
Mr. Grant Heslin, Vice President of Asset Management Services at SIA Solutions, moderated a discussion on “National Trends in the Defense Industry. Mr. Heslin led a panel of distinguished speakers that consisted of defense industry experts, community leaders and former senior Department of Defense officials. The topic of conversation was on current trends impacting the defense industrial base and how industry is responding and the partnership opportunities available for communities and military installations.
Other SIA experts attending the forum included: Mr. Harry Kleiser, President; Ms. Hillary Bassett, Vice President and Senior Policy Analyst; Mr. Patrick Giardina, Senior Energy Program Manager; Ms. Toniann Fisher, Senior Program Manager for Army Community Partnerships; Ms. Andrea Sojda, Army Partnerships Technical Advisor; Ms. Sarah-Emma Watkins, Program Analyst for Army Community Partnerships, and Ms. Corina Castillo-Johnson, Senior Consultant for Asset Management Transactions. The SIA Solutions Army Community Partnership team supported the Assistant Chief of Staff of the Army for Installation Management and the Installation Management Command to host an Army Installation Management Forum, where senior leaders discussed how the Army is overcoming the challenges of changing missions, constrained resources, and reduced budgets, as well as an Army Partnership Development Workshop that was dedicated to exploring a tactical approach for Army installations and their surrounding communities to create partnerships that enhance Army readiness, gain efficiencies, and improve the quality of life for soldiers, their families, and community neighbors.
